Maddie McNeil

November 6, 2011
Maddie McNeil came to our Mt. Dora Mountain Dulcimer Society monthly meeting yesterday November 5th. Ms. McNeil is staying with our good friends Lori and John. Maddie is a Dulcimer Treasure. She jumped right in and it was like playing with an old friend. We played many tunes including practicing our Christmas list. I have seen Maddie several times and have taken clasees with her in the past. This visit to me was very special as the experience was one of renewing an old friendship. She is such an inspiration and shows me that yes I do play the mountain dulcimer!

New Domain

November 5, 2011
I find that I am continuing to evolve and my website is evolving. I took a giant leag and changed my domain name to www.dulcimerxing.com. While homerthedulcimer served me well up to now I know that I have a long journey ahead of me with many milestones to come. Since I want to expand in multiple ways but still stay grounded to the mountain dulcimer I felt dulcimerxing better defined where I am headed. I hope you like the new domain name and find it easier to enter to get to my website.

Book Signing

November 2, 2011
It is amazing how things go sometimes. I am trying to get back in the swing of things and I just posted my first blog in over a year and now I find out that the bookstore that has Dulcimer X'ing has seen my cookbook and wants me to do a book signing in December just in time for Christmas! Ellen was in the store today and mentioned the cookbook and they wanted to see a copy. She showed them and it was wow this would do well here - when can your husband do a book signing? Still working out the ...

Complacent

November 2, 2011
Compacent - Status Quo - Let it be - Do nothing! Wow I cannot believe that is has been over a year since I have posted to my blog. A lot has happened in the past year and much of my time has been taken up with that change, yet that should not be an excuse for not being here doing what I need to be doing to promote my book and better yet the mountain dulcimer. A little over a year ago I lost my job and feeling depressed it was hard for me to focus on my dulcimer activities. Two months after ge...

You can check out the book trailer by clicking on the Dulcimer X'ing tab and scrolling down and clicking on the YouTube link. I have also posted a link on Everything Dulcimer. I hope you like it. This is just my first attempt at doing anything like this and it was a blast to learn.

New Cookbook almost finished

August 1, 2010
I cannot believe how long it has actually taken me to completely the new cookbook. After completion I submitted the book to the publisher and waited for the proof. Once I received the proof I found enough small errors that I knew that I had to correct them all before I could move forward. This has taken me several weeks of oft and on work to finish the redit. I have resubmitted and now I have to wait for approval and then order another proof for another review. This is part of the whole book ...
